About Us

A working family farm

Our History

Hartgrove Hill Farm has been in the business of livestock farming for many generations. Evolution over the decades from a small sheep heard has brought us to where we are today.   We consider ourselves very lucky to have found a niche in diversifying which enables us to continue to farm, work and live happily in our beautiful surroundings.

The Farm today is home to cows, pigs, chickens and sheep, often a collection or rare breeds hang out in the barn that sits below the yard. Throughout the farming year guests can find themselves helping us with feeding the lambs, witnessing our cows calving and collecting fresh eggs from our shop. Do not forget to ask if you wish to buy any farm produce we may have in season before you arrive and we can arrange it for you to collect on arrival.

Diversifying

Our kernel of a clothing business started in 2004, we converted an old redundant lambing barn into a showroom, office and a sewing area. The business flourished and we find ourselves with the Fortis Clothing brand, proudly British and making furiously tucked away on the farm. We also have added a bespoke tweed clothing to promote British retail.

Hartgrove Hill Farm accommodation offers two properties Knowles which sleeps 6 and the larger property Whytings which sleeps up to 20. Both offering a good base for visiting the Jurassic Coastline or the depts of the Dorset, Devon and Somerset countryside. We are always thrilled to share the farm with guests from all over the UK and enjoy practising our linguistic skills with our International visitors. We hope you will enjoy your stay at Hartgrove Hill Farm as much as we do.
